Vishu Kanji Recipes -വിഷു കഞ്ഞി

വിഷു ദിവസം പാലക്കാടന്‍ ഭാഗത്ത്‌ കണ്ടു വരുന്ന ഒരു വിബവമാണ്

Ingredients / ചേരുവകള്‍ ( For two people )
Rice   – 1/2 cup
Par-boiled rice / പുഴുങ്ങലരി -1/2 Cup
Green gram — 1/2 Cup
White large beans (Payaru)-1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Grated coconut – 1 Cup

 

How to Prepare

1.Dry roast the green gram in a pan on low fire.
2.Dry roast the white large beans (payaru) in a different pan.
3.Put them in a mixer and grind lightly,till it becomes a coarse just-split powder.
4.The powder should not be too fine.
5.Mix the rice and the gram powder together and cook in pressure cooker.
6.Add sufficient water and salt ,keep on low flame for just two or three whistles.
7.Make sure that Rice and gram doesnt become too soft.
8.Add Hot water as needed.
9.Remove it from flame and mix with grated coconut.
Serve it hot.
